Tihar Jail, a VIP jail in Delhi, India's capital, is once again in the news for all the unusual things. There is evidence of recruitment of fake candidates in jail. All these revelations come at a time when there were rumours of the death of prisoners lodged in Tihar jail in recent times. In fact, biometric verification of new Tihar jail personnel was done under the drive. The findings are shocking. The fingerprints of many members of the jail staff do not match the data of the Delhi Sub-Ordinate Service Selection Board (DSSSB), which selects them. This has raised concerns that the jail employees and those appearing for the exam in their names were not the same.
Delhi Sub-Ordinate Service Selection Board launched a biometric authentication drive at Tihar Jail in Delhi. The campaign lasted in the last week of November. All the new recruitments forwarder and assistant superintendent level jobs in Tihar jail were linked to biometric samples of personnel already present in the jail through the DSSSB test since 2019. State that DSSSB collects and save data of all candidates during the recruitment process.
Unexpectedly, 47 workers have come forward with data that does not match DSSSB biometric data. As a result, there is a concern as to whether the personnel on duty in Tihar and those who pass the examination for these posts are the same. As a result, the salaries of all 47 new prison staff have been suspended, and notifications have been given to respond. Further action will be taken after receipt of the final report of DSSSB. It may be recalled that an examination was conducted to check the fraud which is frequent during the recruitment process.
