Bareilly: The bride-to-be refused to get married after tilak and the engagement ceremony in Bareilly, UP. She talked to her future husband in private and said, 'Neither are you beautiful, nor highly educated, and your face is also dark. My friends will make fun of me. That's why I can't marry you. It would be better if you refuse to marry. Otherwise, I will run away after marriage. This will defame you and your family members.'

Hearing this, the groom's senses flew away and he immediately refused to marry. The groom's refusal enraged the people of the bride's side and a dispute started. The family members of the bride took away all the belongings of the groom's side and started misbehaving with them. Durga Prasad, a resident of Nihal Vihar, Delhi, had decided to marry a Cantt resident girl on the condition of not taking dowry. 6 months ago he came with his family to the girl's house for Tilak and the engagement ceremony. During this, the girl told her future husband that he is black and less educated. That's why she cannot marry. If she does not refuse to marry, she will run away from home. Then you and your family will be defamed in the entire society.

Durga Prasad says that after listening to the bride-to-be, he refused the marriage. Thereafter, the girl's brother-in-law threatened Durga Prasad's family members to send them to jail in a false case by abusing them on their mobile. He came to the girl's house to settle the dispute with his family but things did not work out. Further, the groom's side alleged that the bride's family took them to a Dharamshala and demanded Rs 2 lakh. On not giving the money, they attacked them with sticks and injured them, and took away all their belongings. They also misbehaved with their relatives. When this matter was not resolved in the panchayat, then the groom's side had to take shelter in the court. On the orders of the court, the police started an investigation after registering the report. The young man has filed a report against his fiancee and her family members for beating him up and snatching his belongings.
