S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister (EAM), will go to Germany and France from February 18 to 23, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday. "From February 18th to February 23rd, EAM S Jaishankar will be in Germany and France. He'll attend the Munich Security Conference in Germany. During a weekly press briefing, MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "He would also hold bilateral discussions with Foreign Ministers and other delegates who will be attending the conference."
Bagchi said Jaishankar will participate in a panel discussion on the Indo-Pacific and will also conduct talks at an Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav event on the margins of the Conference, which will be hosted by our Consulate General of India in Munich and the Observer Research Foundation. After Germany, Jaishankar will travel to France, where he will meet with his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian, according to Bagchi.
"EAM will also attend the EU Ministerial Forum for Indo-Pacific Cooperation on February 22nd," Bagchi said, noting that this is a French presidency of the European Council initiative. On the margins of the EU Ministerial Forum, he will hold bilateral discussions with counterparts from the European Union and other Indo-Pacific countries, as well as deliver a speech at the French Institute of International Relations (IFRA), according to Bagchi.
