3.6 magnitude earthquake hits Ladakh’s Kargil again

Leh: Ladakh experience tremors at 8:27 am on Saturday. The National Centre for Sysmology (NCS) reported that the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale has been recorded at 3.6. No casualties have been reported so far from the earthquake. Earlier, at 11.02 am on Friday, there were tremors of magnitude 4.2 in Ladakh.

On Wednesday this week, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials had said that there was no loss of life or property. The earthquake occurred at 2:34 pm on Wednesday and its epicentre was recorded in Doda. In China, at least 3 people lost their lives and 27 were injured in a one-on-one earthquake in Anping autonomous county of Yunnan province on Friday. According to media reports, two people died in Anping County. About 72,317 people were affected by the earthquake.

According to the China Earthquake Network Center (CENC), four earthquakes of more than 5.0 magnitude occurred in Anping County from 9 pm to 11 pm. Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted local officials as saying that a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck north-west China's Qinghai province on Saturday, but no casualties were reported.
