Earthquake jolts Mizoram once again, find out what's the intensity

In Mizoram, tremors have been felt in Champhai. According to the National Centre for Sysmology, the tremors were felt around 1:43 pm. The magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale has been assessed as 4.2. The epicentre of the earthquake has come at a depth of 60 km 56 km southeast of Champhai. The National Centre for Sysmology confirmed the earthquake.

Magnitude of earthquake: An earthquake of less than 2.0 magnitude on the Richter scale is placed in the micro category and the earthquake was not felt. 8,000 micro-category earthquakes on the Richter scale are being recorded daily around the world. Similarly, earthquakes of magnitude 2.0 to 2.9 are placed in the minor category. We don't normally feel that 1,000 such earthquakes occur every day. The very light category earthquakes can be of magnitude 3.0 to 3.9, which has been recorded 49,000 times a year. They are felt, but they hardly cause any harm.

Light-category earthquakes are of magnitude 4.0 to 4.9, recorded on the Richter scale about 6,200 times a year all over the world. These tremors are felt and the contents of the house are seen moving. However, they cause negligible losses.
