Guwahati: Tremors were once again felt in Sonitpur in Assam on The New Delhi. According to the National Center for Sysmology, the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale was 4.1. No loss of life or property has been reported from the earthquake so far. Assam has been experiencing a lot of tremors for a long time now.

Earlier, tremors were felt in Tezpur in Assam on May 19. The magnitude of the tremors on the Richter scale was 3.8. Assam had the highest magnitude 6.4 earthquake on April 28. The earthquake caused the highest loss in the state. A total of 8 tremors were felt in the district and adjoining areas on both sides of the Brahmaputra in central Assam following the 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Tezpur.

The main reason behind an earthquake is that there are 7 plates within the earth that are constantly moving. The places where these plates collide more is called fault line zones. Frequent collisions turn the corners of the plates. When the pressure begins to build up, the plates begin to break. Because of their breakdown, the inner energy explores the way out. This is the disturbance after which an earthquake occurs. Most of the intensity of the earthquake has not been determined yet. However, an earthquake of magnitude 7.0 or more on the Richter scale is considered to be worse than normal.
