Dehradun: Earthquake tremors were felt in the Bageshwar district, considered very sensitive from the point of view of earthquakes in Uttarakhand, today on August 19. Tremors were felt in some parts of the district around 12.55 pm. Especially in Kapkot, when people felt the earthquake, panic spread and in many places people were shocked in their homes. Along with Bageshwar, tremors were also felt in Munsiyari of the Pithoragarh district. It is said that the intensity of this earthquake was 3.6 on the Richter scale and the centre of the earthquake was said to be the Shama of Kapkot. However, no damage has been reported in the earthquake.

After the earthquake tremors this afternoon, the administration has informed all tehsils and police stations. Let us tell you that Bageshwar falls in Zone Five in terms of earthquakes and is considered very sensitive from this point of view. This is the third incident this year. Earlier on January 18, an earthquake of magnitude 2.5 was felt. Subsequently, on July 8, there was an earthquake in Kapkot, with a magnitude of 3.8.

It is worth mentioning that the last time there was an earthquake in Bageshwar in July, big questions were raised about the alerting app because neither any warning was given in this app nor was this app giving updates about the earthquake till some time after the earthquake.
