Earthquake of Magnitude 4.5 Hits Andaman Sea-  A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck the Andaman Sea on Friday night, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The tremors were felt at 10:46 pm, with the epicenter located at latitude 10.25 and longitude 93.82, at a depth of 10 km.

In a post on X, the NCS shared details of the earthquake: "EQ of M: 4.5, On: 28/06/2024 22:46:46 IST, Lat: 10.25 N, Long: 93.82 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Andaman Sea."

This is not the first seismic activity in the region this year. In March, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake affected the Andaman Islands. That quake occurred at 11:32 pm, with an epicenter at latitude 10.06 and longitude 95.00, and a depth of 67 km, as recorded by the NCS.
