East Bengal, who are trying to make a comeback after their investors backed out, on Thursday signed a two-year contract with Spain's centre back Ivan Gonzales. Gonzales, who has played 36 out of 42 FC Goa matches in the last two ISL seasons, is the first overseas player from East Bengal this season. After the poor performance in the 2nd season of the Indian Super League, the major investor Shree Cement Limited has pulled out.

In January this year, it was reported that the match between Mumbai City FC and SC East Bengal in the Indian Super League match was a draw. No team has been able to score a goal in this match.   With which the Mumbai team has again come first in the points table. This team has not won any of the last four matches. At the same time, the Bengal team has not been able to win any of the last 10 matches. In this match, Igor Ngulo was the first to try to score a goal. However, goalkeeper Arindam easily stopped his header. After Angulo, Daniel Cheema also attempted to score at the other end. His goal was not right and the ball went out of the right side of the goal post. During this time, Bengal suffered a major setback when their player Joyner Lourenco was injured and Ankit Mukherjee was included in his place.

Both teams failed to score goals: In this match, the defences of both the teams were very strong and in the first half, none of the teams could create a big chance to score. Mumbai kept the ball with them most of the time in the first half, but their players could not penetrate the Bengal defence. The scores of both teams remained equal till halftime. Bikas Jairu sent Mohammad Rafique in the second half and in the beginning of the second half, the Mumbai players demanded a penalty, but the referee rejected their demand.

After which the Brazilian player tried to score from a long distance, but goalkeeper Bhattacharja has stopped it too. Meanwhile, the frustration of not being able to score a goal was clearly seen in the Mumbai players, but they could not reverse the result of the match and they did not win the fourth match in a row.
