New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Sunday requested the public to participate in the e-auction of gifts and souvenirs received by him and said the money coming from it will go to Namami Gange Mission. The Union Culture Ministry had on Thursday announced an e-auction of gifts and souvenirs received by PM Narendra Modi. According to reports, more than 2,700 souvenirs including shawls, turbans and jackets gifted to Prime Minister Modi are being auctioned.

The same amount received from e-auction will go to Namami Gange Mission for the purpose of conservation and rejuvenation of Ganga. According to the official auction portal, there are 1300 items on the block, which include a t-shirt of Paralympic shooter Avani Lakhera (base price Rs 15 lakh), a stole with the signature of Tokyo Olympic players (base price Rs 90 lakh), fencer Bhavani Devi's Kirpan. Apart from this, there is a hockey stick and an autographed racquet for the women's and men's Olympic teams, which was used by PV Sindhu when she won the bronze medal.

Prime Minister Modi also tweeted, "I have received many gifts and souvenirs which are being auctioned. It also includes special souvenirs given by our Olympic athletes. You must participate in the auction. The income will go to the Namami Gange initiative.'' Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra's spear is among the items that have been bid the most in the e-auction of gifts and souvenirs received by the PM.
