Mumbai: ED has taken major action against Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. In fact, recently, the ED has seized assets worth Rs 65.75 crore of the Pawar family in the operative bank scam case. The property is said to include the land, building, machines, and plant of Ajit Pawar's wife's sugar mill at Chimangaon in Koregaon. On the other hand, state deputy CM Ajit Pawar has said, "He has not received any notice from the ED in the matter. He doesn't know anything about it.''

On the other hand, the ED says, "Whatever property they have seized is in the name of M/S Guru Commodity Service Pvt. The property has been leased out to M/S Jarandeshwar Cooperative Sugar Mill.'' The ED also says, "Most of the sugar mill's stake is held by M/s Sparkling Saius Pvt Ltd. The company is connected to Ajit Pawar and his wife Sunetra Pawar.''

The Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police had registered an FIR in the case in 2010. Based on the same FIR, the ED has registered a money laundering case and an inquiry is underway. The ED has said that "In 2010, Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank auctioned the Jarandeshwar Cooperative Sugar Mill.''

At the same time, the ED alleged that the price was deliberately lowered. The ED says Ajit Pawar was on the Board of Directors of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank at that time. The site was purchased by Guru Commodity Services Limited during the auction. It was then leased out to the sugar mill. The ED has alleged that Ajit Pawar along with his wife formed a fake company to get back the property. 700 crore was taken from the operative bank in the name of a cooperative sugar factory through a sugar mill.
