Biopics have become quite popular in Bollywood, especially in the last couple of years due to this a lot of filmmakers are adopting this feature in their new projects. Be it freedom fighters, politicians, sports stars, businessmen, outlaws, underworld dons or those whose life stories have become a source of inspiration for countless, Bollywood certainly loves recounting tales of real-life people.

We have seen some remarkable movies like Gandhi, Mangal Pandey-The Rising, Provoked, No One Killed Jessica and many more. All of these have paved the way to represent their respective stories on a cinematic platform and shedding some light on people who have flagged themselves and yet have been forgotten.

But the controversies also arises with many of the biopic movies.

The Dirty picture based on Silk Smitha's life got into a lot of controversies due to the objection by Silk Smitha's brothers who even sent notices to the makers of the movie.

Milkha Singh stated on he movie based on his biopic 'Bhag Milkha Bhag ' that Bollywood hasn't done any favour by making a film on him.

An attempt made by film makers of the Bollywood to try this new genre of film making needs to be encouraged as it opens a window for the audience to know about a personality and a successful one at that, and can relate with a character of the history.
