Tripura's education minister, Ratan Lal Nath, stated that no demands for or against the wearing of the hijab at educational institutions have been made thus far.

The Tripura education department has no intentions to offer any particular recommendations pertaining to uniform code of students studying in different educational institutes because no demands have been made, informed Nath. Ratan Lal Nath further stated that if a similar situation to the Hijab row occurs in Tripura, appropriate steps will be taken.

"There is no reason to pay attention to an issue that has no effect on our state." The states that are dealing with these challenges should deal with them on their own. "However, if any part of the society in Tripura makes a demand, stakeholders would be approached for their opinion before any real action is taken," said Ratan Lal Nath, the state's education minister.

"Quality education in schools and other higher educational institutions is our top goal." "We are making every effort to improve our educational infrastructure by putting in high-tech teaching and learning facilities," Nath said. On the eve of International Mother Language Day on Thursday, Nath spoke to the media on the sidelines of a readiness meeting.
