The Indian Army considers January 15 every year as Indian Army Day and this year it will be celebrated as the 42nd Army Day of the Indian Army. There is a history behind observing Army Day. When Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over as General Sir Francis Butcher on January 1949 as Commander-in-Chief of India. This day is celebrated to honor the soldiers of our country. During this time, the army shows its strength. The parade is held in Delhi. In the evening on 'Army Day', the Army Chief organizes a Tea Party, in which the Supreme Commander of the 3 armies includes the President of India, the Prime Minister and members of his cabinet.
