Breast feeding is important not only for the new baby but also for the for the mother. It helps to keep the child as well as mother to stay healthy. Breast milk provides abundant and easily absorbed nutritional components, antioxidants, enzymes, immune properties, and live antibodies from mother. These antibodies enter her milk to help protect her baby from illness. Immunoglobulin A coats the lining of the baby’s immature intestines helping germs and allergens from leaking through.

These days because of change in the diets, various women are not able to produce milk. But not to worry here are some tips to increase the production of Breast feedings.

Add Garlic to your diet: Garlic is known for its lactogenic properties that help increase breast milk supply in mothers. Mince garlic cloves and add it to your dishes. You can also chew on a few garlic cloves.

Stay Hydrated: Try to drink as much water as you can. Having more water doesn’t have any sideeffects.Your body can't make milk if you're dehydrated. And you need more water than you probably think—in addition to the doctor-recommended eight glasses per day, you should add another four glasses in.

Changes in Diet: Have sufficient and nutritionally rich food. Add  heavy  fruits and vegetables, whole grains like brown rice, foods rich in omega-3s like salmon and flaxseeds, and vegetable proteins. Aim for about 2,500 calories per day.

Breast feed frequently : The more often and the longer your baby latches on to suck, the more milk you'll produce. A lactation consultant can teach you the best ways t to help you and your baby get the most out of breastfeeding. The increase in duration of breast feeding also result in the increase of amount of milk you produce.

Listening music: Breast feeding also increases with change in emotion. Hearing soothing tunes will help relax you and get the hormones flowing that you need to let down milk. If you’re pumping, looking at pictures of your baby may help as well.

Warm Shower: You can use a heating pad or a warm shower might be best in order to increase breast feeding. As it is quite relaxing and also helps in reducing the breast feeding pain.

Feed from both Breast: if you want to improve lactation, try and breastfeed equally from both sides. When you start feeding your baby wait until spontaneously unlatching before offering the other side. This not only increases the amount of milk produced but can also help increase the fat content of the milk.

Massage your Breast : One of the most traditional and effective way to increase milk production is massaging. Sometimes the problem may just be blocked milk ducts. In such cases, a breast massage is a great idea. While this will not increase breast milk production, it can help loosen hardened areas and lumps and open up blocked ducts.

Pump your Breast : Try to press your breast, it is advisable to express breast milk manually between feeds. This helps encourage lactation in the same way as breastfeeding. You can also pump Breast milk after a feed if you feel your breasts have not been completely emptied. To make pumping breastmilk easier, warm your hands and breasts before expressing the milk.
