Egypt's "Mashroa'ak" (Your Project) National Programme for Community, Human, and Local Development has made remarkable strides since its launch in 2015, facilitating the establishment of over 212,800 projects and generating more than 1.4 million job opportunities across the country.

Minister of Local Development, Manal Awad, highlighted the program's success in fostering development in villages, cities, and districts. The initiative has disbursed approximately EGP 29.2 billion in loans, which has significantly contributed to job creation and sustainable development.

“The 'Mashroa'ak' program is making great strides in advancing community development and generating meaningful job opportunities. It reflects President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s vision for innovative solutions to combat unemployment and enhance economic development,” said Awad.

The program is open to people of all ages and supports various sectors including agriculture, industry, services, commerce, marketing, and freelance activities. It recognizes the crucial role of small enterprises in economic growth and job creation, often leading to the expansion into larger businesses.

Awad affirmed the Ministry's commitment to further support the “Mashroa'ak” program, aiming to drive nationwide development through collaboration with six participating banks: Banque Misr, the National Bank of Egypt, the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, Banque du Caire, the Bank of Alexandria, and the Housing and Development Bank. This partnership will ensure the necessary funding for approved projects.

Under the “Mashroa'ak” initiative, there is no upper limit on funding. Micro-projects for women and youth start from EGP 1,000 up to EGP 150,000, while small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can receive funding beginning at EGP 150,000, with no set maximum depending on project needs and bank approval.

The initiative supports three main project types: existing projects seeking expansion, repetitive model projects like handicrafts, and new innovative ideas. Documentation requirements vary by project size, with micro-projects needing basic documents such as a lease or ownership contract and identification, while larger projects require detailed financial statements and feasibility studies.

With 260 offices nationwide, the program offers extensive support, including technical and administrative training, to help participants benefit fully from the program. These offices, staffed by local administration, bank representatives, and licensing authorities, streamline the application process and provide necessary training until permanent licenses are issued.

Minister Awad praised the program’s management for their diligent oversight, including monthly progress reports, coordination with banks, and addressing borrower challenges. The “Mashroa'ak” team works to ensure that the program meets its objectives and continues to support development across all governorates.
