Mumbai: The first session of the Maharashtra Assembly begins today after Eknath Shinde became the CM. On the first day of the two-day special session of the Assembly, the Speaker of the Assembly will be elected. Then, Chief Minister Shinde will have to prove his majority in the Assembly.

The same Shiv Sena has been completely captured by the Eknath Shinde faction. Meanwhile, when elections are due for the post of Assembly Speaker in Maharashtra today, the Shiv Sena office present here has also been sealed. However, it is not yet clear which faction has been sealed for the office. The notice states that the office has been sealed by the Shiv Sena Legislature Party.

The same Eknath Shinde has issued a whip to all the MLAs of the Thackeray faction asking them to vote in favour of BJP's speaker candidate Rahul Narvekar. The whip has also been issued to former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's son Aaditya Thackeray. In Maharashtra, the election for the post of Assembly Speaker is to be held today. Earlier, BJP leader Ram Kadam tweeted and claimed victory. He wrote- "Knock... They will win... The post of Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.''
