HYDERABAD: The Ram Navami Shobha Yatra, which will take place here and in Telangana's Bhainsa on Sunday, is being prepared with great care.

The police top brass were busy preparing security arrangements to ensure a peaceful march after the Telangana High Court directed the police to allow Shobha Yatra in Bhainsa, Nirmal district, on Friday. The organisers were given permission with some riders by the High Court. Shobha Yatra should be held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to Justice Kanneganti Lalitha. The court stated that the organisers must adhere to the police-determined route as well as the conditions imposed by them.

After the police refused to allow the parade to pass through certain communally sensitive locations, the organisers went to the High Court. The state government informed the court that permission for the march in certain places had been denied due to the law and order situation.

In recent years, Bhainsa, about 260 kilometres from Hyderabad, has seen a series of communal conflicts. In March of last year, the town was rocked by violence. In the year 2020, there were two reports of communal conflicts.

Along the procession route, police in both Hyderabad and Bhainsa were putting in place strong security measures. In addition to deploying sufficient forces, police officials will use CCTV cameras to monitor the situation.

In light of the ongoing holy month of Ramzan, this is to take extra precautions. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad High Court dismissed two writ petitions seeking permission for the Shobha Yatra from the Rasoolpura and Karwan regions of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, respectively.
