'Murder case on Election Commission for corona,' EC reaches against Madras HC

New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) has moved to court against the Madras High Court's comments during the corona epidemic. The Madras High Court had said that the Election Commission should be held responsible for the spread of the second wave of corona in the second wave of the covid-19 transition. Commission officials should face murder charges.

The Commission has said that madras HC's remarks have tarnished the image of the Commission. The Commission has also sought a ban on the telecast of the news in the media. In its plea before the Madras High Court, the Election Commission has said that the media should not report oral comments made by judges during the hearing. Should only report comments recorded in order. EC also said, 'Media reports have tarnished the image of the Commission as an independent constitutional agency entrusted with the constitutional responsibility of conducting elections.'

The Election Commission has told the Madras High Court that political leaders have failed to discharge their duties. The next hearing in the case will be on Friday. The Madras High Court had on Monday slammed the Election Commission over the second wave of corona in the country. The commission was said to be responsible for the spread of the infection. The court had called EC the most irresponsible institution. The court even said that commission officials can be booked under murder charges.
