Assam election: Election Commission to reach Guwahati on January 11

Guwahati: Preparations have started for the assembly elections in the state of Assam. A team of the Election Commission will be in Assam on January 11 and 12 to inspect preparations for the elections. Assembly elections are expected to be held in Assam between March and April this year. There are a total of 126 seats in the Assam Assembly, for which the Election Commission team is reaching Assam to prepare for elections.

Director General of Election Commission Dharmendra Sharma and other senior officials will reach Assam on January 11. Where they will hold a meeting with District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police. Apart from this, these teams of the Election Commission will also hold a meeting with the nodal officers of Assam Police, officials of Excise Department, Traffic and other departments on January 12 at a hotel in Guwahati.

In an official notice issued by the Election Commission, it has been said that the Director General of the Election Commission will also meet Chief Secretary of Assam Jishnu Barua and other top officials of the state. During this time talks will be held for the preparations for the upcoming elections.
