New Delhi: The Election Commission has started an exercise to conduct assembly elections in five states of the country in April. After Assam and West Bengal, the team of top officials of the Election Commission will now reach Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala on a six-day tour on Wednesday, where the assembly elections will be reviewed. Not only this, but the Election Commission team will also discuss with political parties.
It is noteworthy that the tenure of the assemblies of Assam, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Union Territory of Puducherry is ending between May and June. In such a situation, elections are expected to be held in all these places in April. The Chief Election Commissioner along with his two fellow commissioners and other top officials will draw a file for the assembly elections of these three states of South India.
Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora and Election Commissioners Sushil Chandra and Rajeev Kumar will be on their stay in Tamil Nadu on 10 and 11 February, while on 12 February they will be in Puducherry, while on 13 and 14 February they will reach Kerala and elect the administrative and administrative officials will churn together and check the election preparations. The Election Commission normally visits the states before the election program is announced.
