New Delhi: Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir to be held later this year. The election commission said on Tuesday that the schedule of assembly elections will be announced after the Amarnath Yatra is over. According to the sources, the Election Commission, on the basis of article 324, has decided with the consent of all the people that the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held at the end of this year.

As per the information received from the sources, the commission said, "We continue to monitor the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Information is being taken from every essential aspect. Only then will the assembly elections be declared. "The 46-day Amarnath Yatra will start on the occasion of Shivratri on July 1. It will be completed on 15th August on the day of the Shravan Purnima.

For your information let us tell you that,  the president's rule is currently in place in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier there was Governor's rule. The state has been under President's rule after 22 years. Earlier, there had been President's rule from 1989 to October 1996. Governor Satya Pal Malik had recommended the imposition of President's rule from the central government after six months of Governor's rule was completed.
