Electric crossover SUV Kia sets it to test at Nurburgring

The Hyundai Motor Group Kia Motors wants to be in the race for a significant share in the electric mobility pie. It has some small EV offerings in several global markets, the Korean carmaker aims slightly bigger and has started track testing the electric crossover. Kia brand this week outlined an aggressive rollout schedule that will see it bring 11 EVs to market by 2025, including seven on electric-only platforms.

Its track testing has shown strong signs about the car as it could borrow design elements from the Kia Sportage and may showcase rectangular LED lights, a plethora of character lines on its body, and a webbed front bumper. The EV crossover SUV is being generated by Kia under the codename of CV. It is based on Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform E-GMP. It's not yet clear when Kia will showcase the EV minus its wraps but it is expected that the second half of the 2021 time-frame could be available. Kia has emphasized its focus on driving out more and more electric vehicles over the course of the upcoming years.

While the European markets are expected to focus on the area considering the support now being offered by several countries here, the carmaker. The home base of South Korea where Tesla has made massive inroads in recent times.
