Wednesday;July 6, 2016: At Udhagamandalam, an elephant, who was wounded after being hit by a bus near Hosur in Krishnagiri district, died today.
As per the forest department said, “The 10-year-old pachyderm sustained serious injuries on its rear right leg and spinal chord after a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus hit it as the elephant was trying to cross the road on July 4.”
“It was brought to Theppakkad Elephant Camp in Mudumalai last night for treatment, but died around 12.30 PM today”, forest department sources added
