Latehar: Elephants have created a ruckus in Latehar. In the same sequence, an elephant separated from the herd in Bariatu block killed two persons. The elephant crushed two people who had been grazing cattle in the forest and killed them. There is a lot of resentment among the residents after the incident. According to reports, the elephant has so far killed two persons in different villages. The first incident took place in the Ambakhar village of Bariatu block. Govind Yadav had gone to the forest to graze cattle here. As a result, they were attacked by an elephant separated from the herd.

The same elephant quickly killed Govind Yadav. Due to this, the people present in the vicinity somehow saved their lives by hiding. The elephant again headed towards the forest after the incident. Shortly thereafter, an angry elephant thrashed another villager to death in a forest near Nawadih village. The deceased has been identified as Subodh Oraon. Subodh had also gone to the forest to graze cattle. That is why the elephant attacked them. Here, after the incident, there is panic among the people of Ambakhar village and Nawadih village.

The villagers have also demanded compensation from the forest department while handing over the case. There is a lot of resentment among the residents towards the forest department over the elephant menace. They say that the forest department does not take stringent steps to drive away the elephants and this is leading to continuous incidents. There is panic in the area after the death of the same two persons.
