Ellie Goulding feared for her life when she had a terrible panic attack on a train, recalling how her head "totally collapsed." "I was on a train, sadly, going to my friend's father's funeral, and I was going through where I grew up, and I remembered the old person that I was, and it hadn't caught up with this new person that I was trying to make myself as a recording artist, and I think it just completely crashed," Goulding said.

"And then the train broke down, and everything just came together in this huge fear of, well, I was sweating, and my heart was beating, and I was getting palpitations, and I had these emotions of dread attack which made me think I was going to die."

The singer went on to say, "Love me as you do." "'Is this death?' I wondered. 'Are you going to die?' since the physical reaction was so extreme." According to the media, she believes it is something she has developed as she has gotten older.

On the 'Open Mind' podcast, Goulding added: "I don't recall ever having it as a child. It's possible I did it. I just didn't read it correctly or assumed that was just who I was, but as I've gotten older, I've been able to unpick things a lot more."

"I believe the first time it became a physical problem for me was when I initially started out in music and everything occurred so fast that I couldn't keep up. My head couldn't keep up with my body, and my body couldn't keep up with my brain."
