New Delhi: Billionaires Gautam Adani and Elon Musk collectively lost around $25 billion in a single day, after their companies' shares fell in the stock markets.

Two businessmen lost a significant portion of their wealth in a single day, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which tracks the wealth of billionaires on a daily basis.

Musk lost $15.5 billion (about Rs 1.26 lakh crore) when Tesla shares fell 8.6%, their biggest one-day fall in four months.

According to Reuters, the carmaker's market value was reduced by more than $71 billion as a result of the drop in the share price. Despite this huge loss, Musk still tops the list of the world's richest people.

At the same time, the stock market shares of Adani's companies also declined. Adani Power, Adani Wilmar, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Adani Green and Adani Total Gas were among his business group companies that experienced the crash on Monday. During the day, the 60-year-old tycoon suffered a loss of $9.67 billion (78,913 crore).

Adani Total Gas Ltd shares closed 7.90% down at 3,076, while Adani Power shares ended 4.99% lower at 354.85. Adani Wilmar closed at 717.75 and had a circuit break of 5%.

Adani Enterprises, on the other hand, experienced a decline of 8.42% and closed the day at 3,164.75. Adani Energy shares closed 7.65% lower at 2,087.85, while Adani Port shares closed at 784.95.

Adani, who recently climbed to the second spot on the list of billionaires, has been placed at the fourth position, after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Louis Vuitton chief Bernard Arnault. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is at the tenth position with an estimated net worth of $81.9 billion.
