The Tesla Cybertruck isn't scheduled to hit US roads till at least 2023, owing to multiple production delays. However, delays do not rule out the possibility that the electric pickup could remain in the headlines, especially as Tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to reply to questions about it on Twitter.

One internet user recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the Cybertruck's side mirrors, prompting Musk to divulge an interesting tidbit. The side mirrors on the Cybertruck will be replaceable, according to Musk's Twitter response. He stated, "They're needed by law, but engineered to be easily removed by owners." Many additional internet users then pointed out that most people who would buy a Tesla Cybertruck would likely delete the side mirrors if the option was available.

Many others, however, pointed out that removing side mirrors may be unsafe and may be in violation of rules and regulations.

Any vehicle's side mirrors aid in obtaining a good view of traffic from behind, as well as assisting drivers and occupants in detecting pedestrians or impediments. While others believe that this important feature in modern automobiles does not need to be eliminated, numerous firms have experimented with side extensions that show video feed rather than merely mirrors.

Vehicles must have side mirrors, according to the US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, even if the legality of live broadcast on them from rear-facing cameras is unclear. But with more and more technology coming into today's vehicles, there may need to be a balancing act between convenience, safety, legality and the sheer sense of awe.
