Elon Musk: Twitter won't resume blacklisted users like Donald Trump without a "clear process"

United States: Twitter's most famous banned user, former US President Donald Trump, may not be allowed to return unless the social media site has "a clear procedure for doing so", according to Elon Musk. According to a tweet early Wednesday.

Musk tweeted that it would take at least a few more weeks to develop such a process. The new schedule suggests that Trump will not return in time for the November 8 midterm election.

Users, advertisers and members of Twitter staff are keeping a close eye out for any indication of what Musk will do during his first week as owner of the company.

The Tesla CEO has previously said Twitter should not ban users permanently and that he would lift Trump's suspension because of the potential for further inciting violence following the US Capitol riots last year.

Musk's tweets follow a call on Tuesday with the NAACP, the Anti-Defamation League, and Color of Change, among other civil rights organizations.

During the call, Musk pledged to enforce Twitter's content moderation guidelines and electoral integrity, according to Color of Change president Rashad Robinson.

Musk reaffirmed in a tweet on Wednesday that Twitter would establish a council for content moderation made up of members with "widely differing views."

According to Robinson, who said discussions were still in the early stages, the billionaire said during the call that he wanted civil society organizations to join the council.
