El-Rufai wants to punish politicians who use religion as a political tool

Nigeria: The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has stressed the importance of punishing politicians who use religion as a political tool. The governor was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development headquarters in Kaduna yesterday.

He expressed concern over how some politicians were dividing their constituencies on racial and religious lines. He stressed that Nigerians had a special opportunity to remove religion from politics during the elections in 2023.

Al-Rufai urged academics and royal fathers to pray to God to help them choose a leader who would bring the country together and lead it to general elections in February 2023.

Additionally, he urged the royal fathers and academics to convey to the populace the absolute need to ensure that future elections are not focused on religion, but on what a person can do for the betterment of the common people. Could

   “People are united by their poverty, their need for good health care, their desire to have food on the table, and their desire for education. That is where our attention should be directed, but some people encourage religious and ethnic Holding meetings to do." Division.

At a time when the whole world is dealing with issues like hyper-nationalism and disruption of global supply chains, Nigeria is the last thing it needs.

When offended, he apologized and said, "We try to do right, but only God is right. We have five months to go, and I would prefer to lay down and sleep in peace."

The Sultan of Sokoto and Grand Patron of the Foundation, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, said that the Foundation is collaborating with several stakeholders and working to raise the standard of living of the Ummah.

The Coordinator of the Foundation and Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samailah Muhammad Mere, praised the Governor of Kaduna State for allocating land for the construction of the headquarters as well as donating N25 million to finance it.
