Over the past few years, many critics have started to talk about the emergence and growth of hip hop music in Indian culture. It has become more after the release of the movie Gully Boy, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhat, in February 2019.

In a real scenario, the genre has been existing in India for nearly three decades. But things have changed while hip-hop became a part of the mainstream. It is now one of the popular music genres in the Indian subcontinent.

The movie opens the door for all young talented rappers. They come under the limelight slowly. A lot of music reality show has started and their main theme is a rap song. Karma, Naezy, Divine, Bella, Raftaar, Krsna, Byg Smyle are very popular rappers in India.

A bunch of hip hop record label companies has grown in the music industry. Such as Fhigh Music, BGBNG Records, Kalamkaar, Gully Gang Records, Artistaan, Azadi Records etc. They release a lot of hip hop music on the channel or anywhere and get a charming response from music lovers and fans.

Besides the young generation, the middle-aged person also started to grip the culture slowly. Nowadays, after a hectic day or after the exam most people are heard rap songs to release their stress. From college fest to competition ground rap song is the most wanted.
