Employee of Jet Airways found with Rs 3.21 crore in US dollars, arrested

New Delhi [India] Jan 9 (NT): The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has detained a Jet Airways employee at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for allegedly carrying US dollars of worth Rs 3.21 crore.

"US Dollars has found the valued over Rs 3.21 crore found from a lady crew member of a Hong Kong-bound Jet Airways flight last night at Indira Gandhi International airport," said by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in a statement, on Monday while interacting with the media.

The Jet Airways has said that it would take further action against the staff member.As Jet Airways spokesperson said, "During an investigation by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, team, a large amount of the foreign currency was been recovered from an employee of the Jet Airways at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The employee has been taken into custody and going on with the examination. Based on the investigations and inputs from law enforcement agencies, the airline will be going to take further legal action in the case."

"Jet Airways has a strict code of conduct and intolerance towards any action of its employees that contravenes domestic or international laws of the countries in/to which it operates," the spokesperson further added.
