Mumbai: Since the corona epidemic, the country has undergone a number of changes, meanwhile, the best of its employees, who are providing electricity to nearly 10 lakh customers in Mumbai and running 4,000 buses, is also filling it with coins from their employees' aprons every month. In fact, due to an issue relating to the Vrindavan electric supply and transport banks, a good share of salaries is given to its 40,000 workers in small notes and coins. Earlier, its participation in the salaries of the employees was very low, but now their share is increasing.
According to PTI information, a BEST worker, on the condition of not expressing his name, said that a small portion of his salary has always been available as coins. Earlier, each employee received Rs. 1,000, mainly two and five rupee coins and 10 rupee notes. Some part of the salary was 50, 100, and 500 rupees as cash notes. But, in the past time, they got Rs. 11,000 as cash and coins and that is Rs. 15,000 last month, the rest of the salary comes directly to their accounts.
In this regard, Sunil Ganacharya, a senior member of the BEST Committee, says that BEST has a large number of cash and coins lying. BEST gets this coin and small notes as a fare of buses. The money is lying at its 100 to 150 collection centers across the city and no bank is ready to take them. Ganacharya said that many of the BEST personnel come from distant suburban areas like Ambernath, Badalalapader, Panvel, and Virar. Cash salaries are also caused by a problem in commuting by local train as coins. At the same time, there is a crisis too.
