Security force kills one militant in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla

Srinagar: A non-local militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Police sources said, an operation broke out in Boniyar area of Uri area in the morning between militants and a special operation group of Rashtriya Rifles and State Police.

"An unidentified non-local terrorist has been killed in the counter-attack so far," the source said. The operation against the terrorists is still going on. Earlier on 11th June, an encounter between security forces and militants in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir is continuing. Two to three terrorists are likely to be holed up on the spot.

According to security sources, some terrorists were reported to be hiding in Vadura area of Baramulla on Tuesday evening. Security forces launched a search operation in the area after which the militants opened fire on the security forces, after which the security forces retaliated. One terrorist was killed in the encounter. However, the identity of the terrorist is yet to be ascertained while the encounter is still going on.
