New Delhi: An encounter took place behind Lady Sri Ram College in Amar Colony area of Delhi in the early hours of Friday morning, in which Iqbal was injured after being shot in the leg. It was a joint operation of Crime Branch and Special Branch of Delhi Police. Iqbal is currently undergoing treatment in police custody.

After getting the information, when the team of Special Branch and Crime Branch STF SP Pankaj Singh and Inspector Jatan Singh laid a trap and stopped him, he opened fire on the police. In response, the police also fired in which Iqbal was shot in the leg, firing a total of 10 rounds in the encounter.

Iqbal was originally a resident of Bulandshahr and has more than 25 cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery in UP and Delhi, recently Iqbal and his associates looted 65 lakhs in Greater Noida, including Gautam Buddha Nagar. One of his companions was shot dead by the police, while the other was injured by a police bullet.
