Surat: Mafia Atiq Ahmed's patience has finally been broken after a series of legal actions against his criminal empire. In Gujarat, Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who came to Sabarmati jail for questioning Atiq have burst into tears. Atiq Ahmed told ED officials that he has been ruined. The ED questioned Atiq Ahmed for a long time on October 27 and 28.

According to media reports, assets worth more than Rs 355 crore have been confiscated so far, including Mafia Atiq Ahmed and his accomplices. This action has been taken under the intensive campaign launched by the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh against the mafia and criminals. In the drive, Atiq Ahmed's office, Prayagraj Development Authority, has also demolished the house without passing the map. Atiq's companies F&A Associates, Infrastate Pvt Ltd and Infra Green Private Limited are also under ED.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is collecting information about Atiq Ahmed's other black money, has also started tightening its grip. A Prayagraj branch of ED had registered a money laundering case against Atiq, who was locked in Sabarmati jail since June 3, 2019, several months ago. A 3-member team of ED has sought approval from the sessions court to interrogate Atiq Ahmed in Sabarmati jail. The team is led by the deputy director of the ED.
