ED raids TMC MP Kanwar Deep Singh's properties in money laundering case

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken action to raid properties belonging to Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Kanwar Deep Singh. The ED has conducted raids on 14 properties belonging to Singh's Alchemist Group in New Delhi and Chandigarh. As per the information given by the authorities, a raid was taken against TMC MP Kanwar Deep Singh to obtain additional evidence in the case related to the alleged Ponzi fraud and housing scam.

A case has been registered against TMC MP Kanwar Deep Singh under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The scam is reported to be worth about Rs 1,900 crore. The agency had earlier taken seizure proceedings on assets worth Rs 239 crore belonging to Alchemist Infra Realty Ltd belonging to KD Singh.

Let us tell you that this raid was done at a time when West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamta Banerjee visited the national capital Delhi. West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Thursday. At the same time, Mamta Banerjee has not responded to this matter yet.
