LONDON: England's fast bowler Jofra Archer has revealed that he suffered a lot during the ICC World Cup-2019 and could not even play a match without a pen killer in the second half of the championship. The 24-year-old Archer played a key role in a total 20-wicket setback for England in the World Cup and the hosts' first-ever world champions. He also bowled in super overs in the final match.

Archer was hurt while playing against Afghanistan in the fifth game of the tournament. England then had to play against India and New Zealand, which did not rest the fast bowler by captain Eoin Morgan.  Quoting Archer, a news channel said, "The pain was quite high. I was lucky to be able to fight him. The injury was very bad and I could not play without a pen killer in the post-Afghanistan bouts," he said.

"I didn't get even a week's rest during the tournament, because the matches were happening quite quickly," Archer said. I needed a rest of the week or 10 days.' Archer has not played a single Test match for England so far, so it is believed he can make his Test debut against Australia.
