Jaipur: On the one hand, there is a campaign against prohibition in Rajasthan, on the other hand, the Rajasthan government has changed the excise policy to promote bar culture. Now under the new policy, a 3-month bar license will be issued, which will be called a short-term license. Not only this, English wine and beer will become cheaper from April 1. While the price of country liquor will increase. Not only the entire liquor ban movement but the Rajasthan Liquor Welfare Society has also objected to the new policy.

The Rajasthan government has increased the prices of country liquor while changing the excise policy. On the other hand, English wine made in India has been made cheaper. It has been decided to abolish the additional excise duty on them. Newly revised rules have been issued by the Excise Department Rajasthan. Under this, the price of country liquor and Rajasthan-made liquor has been increased by up to Rs 2 from April 1. However, on the contrary, English liquor made in India will be cheaper by up to Rs 20 from the next financial year.

Along with this, under the new rules, short-term licenses will now be given to those running bars in the state. Till now, licenses were issued for the whole year. This will benefit those who suffer losses throughout the year due to non-receipt of revenue after starting the bar. Not only this, hotels or institutions running bars that do not renew in one year, then take a license the next year, then have to pay a fee for that year. This time, there is a provision of only a 25 percent fee. In order to benefit those running bars in the state, the department has issued a new rule, but the shop operators have opposed the determination of renewal fees for the license of liquor shops currently running. Nilesh Mewara, president of the Rajasthan Liquor Welfare Society, said that bar culture is being promoted in the new policy. Not only this, the renewal fee of the shops that are currently running is increasing by 15 percent, which is higher. There will be pressure on shop operators to sell more liquor next year. Because as soon as the 15 percent guarantee increases, the goods of liquor will become so much that we will not be able to sell it.
