Named after the principle shrine of Nagaraj (or the snake-God) in the city, Nagercoil is a small, unassuming city in Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, harking back to legendary tales of his birth.

1. By Air:- Nagercoil does not have an airport. Nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport that is in Thiruvanthapuram, the capital of Kerala. The distance between the airport and Kanyakumari is about 82 km. the airport at Thiruvanthapuram is well connected by flights with other major cities of the country and also with some international countries.

2. By Train:- You can easily get regular trains to Nagercoil from other major cities of the country. Nagercoil is connected to the rest of the country by two railway stations; the Trivandrum Central and the Thirunelveli Junction.

3. By Road:- The town is connected to other major cities and towns in the state via a good network of roads. The town is connected to Kanyakumari, Kochi, Thiruvanthapuram and other cities. The Kerala State Bus Services run regular buses from the cities to Nagercoil. Deluxe buses as well as private cabs are also available.
