KIEV, Ukraine – The European Union's embassies in Ukraine are still operational, said Matti Maasikas, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian National News Agency reported Maasikas as saying, "Full support to Ukraine in this circumstances of military, economic, and psychological pressure," adding that "all  Europeon Union member states' embassies continue to work." According to reports, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Monday that the US would temporarily shift its embassy in Ukraine from Kiev to the western city of Lviv, citing growing tensions on Ukraine's borders.

Since November 2021, Kiev and some Western countries have accused Russia of amassing large numbers of troops near the Ukrainian border in preparation for a "invasion." Moscow, for its part, has rejected any intention of invading, accusing the US of being "hysterical."

Earlier it was said by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that."Due to the rapid acceleration in the buildup of Russian forces, we are in the process of temporarily relocating our Embassy operations in Ukraine from our Embassy in Kyiv to Lviv," Blinken stated, adopting the Romanized spelling of the Ukrainian capital city's name.
