New Delhi: Racking brains for 4 days, the leaders of the European Union have finally agreed to set up a huge fund to deal with the coronavirus. The European Union is going to create a fund of 750 billion euros (about 858 billion dollars or 64.04 lakh crore rupees). This fund is being touted as a historic relief plan to save the countries of the European Union struggling with the Corona crisis.

During these four days, there was a lot of debate and discussion among all the leaders and many times it seemed that the deal would not be closed. France had once threatened to leave the union itself and Hungary had vetoed it. The Netherlands and Austria had expressed strong opposition to the package being so generous. According to the news agency AFP, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that "Extraordinary circumstances demand extraordinary efforts." During this very difficult time for all Europeans, there were certainly very difficult talks. This meeting was successful not only for all 27 member countries but also for the people.

With this package, billions of euros can be given as assistance to those countries which have been most affected by the coronavirus. This includes Spain and Italy. A group of countries called 'Frugals' led by the Netherlands strongly opposed this package and called this relief package as unnecessary. But in the end, everyone agreed that Corona is a big crisis for the whole world and it is necessary to cooperate with each other to deal with it. After which the package got the green signal.
