New Delhi: Indian defence companies, both public and private, are currently participating in the EUROSATORY 2024 defence show in France, showcasing a range of Made in India products and technologies.
The Indian pavilion at the exhibition was inaugurated on Monday, June 17 by Indian Ambassador to France Jawed Ashraf. The event was attended by senior officials from Bharat Electronics Limited, including Directors Manoj Jain and K V Suresh Kumar, as well as Brig Zubin Bhatnagar, Defence Attache of India to France, and other senior officials from Defence Public Sector Undertakings and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The exhibition highlights Indian products such as the Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher system and the LCA Tejas fighter aircraft. DRDO is presenting 11 major defence technologies and products, including the Airborne Early Warning and Control System, Astra beyond visual range missiles, and the Akash air defence system. The Pinaka system, which has already been exported to a friendly foreign country, is among the prime attractions from the Indian contingent.
Other notable exhibits include the Arjun main battle tank, the Wheeled Armoured Platform, and the Varunastra heavy-weight torpedo.
In addition to DRDO, a significant number of Indian private sector companies, including Nibe Defence and Bharat Forge, along with several small and medium enterprises, are participating in the show.
EUROSATORY-2024, one of Europe's largest defence exhibitions, is being held in Paris, France. The event comes at a time when many countries in the region are increasing their defence spending due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
