Thiruvananthapuram: By donating an organ, many lives can be saved and they can get a new life. A case has recently come up from Kerala. 27 year old, Anujith's wife,  was declared brain dead in Kerala on July 17. His wife Princi, and sister Ajalya, donated organs after Anujit's death, made him a saviour for 8 people.

Anujith was injured in a bike accident on July 14 near Kottarakara in Kollam district of Kerala. He was taken to Kotarakara Taluk Hospital in a critical condition and later transferred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. He was declared brain dead through two apnea tests at the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences. To save the lives of 8 people, Ajalya and Princi took the initiative to donate Anujith's kidneys, eyes, heart, small intestine and hands.

Health Minister KK Selja appreciated the family for taking this humanitarian step in this time of grief. The minister has also expressed condolences to Anujith's family. The organ donation was done through 'Mruthasanjivani' for the Kerala sharing organization of the state government. Anujith's heart was donated to Sunny Thomas (55), a native of Thripunithura who is undergoing treatment at the Lisi Hospital in Kochi. Apart from this, the receiver of hands and small intestine is being treated at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. According to the instructions of the CM, Pawan Hans AS 35 Dauphin Helicopter taken on rent by the state government carried out the mission to collect Anujith's organs from the Hyatt Hotel in Ernakulam on Tuesday.
