Patna: A complete liquor ban is in force in Bihar, but the incidents of deaths due to spurious liquor are not taking the name of stopping. Now, two persons have died after consuming spurious liquor in Pathra village near former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi's assembly constituency (Imamganj), while the condition of 10 persons is critical. However, the death due to consumption of spurious liquor has not yet been confirmed by the administration.

The case pertains to Pathra village in the Gaya district where more than a dozen Mahadalit family members consumed spurious liquor last night. Thereafter, 2 persons died while 10 others are critical. The victims have been admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital for treatment.

There is a complete prohibition in Bihar, even after which the smugglers do not even come to the rescue of poisonous liquor among the people. The situation in the state is worse despite continuous revision of the liquor policy. The family members of the victim, who are swinging between life and death at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College in Gaya, are very upset. The two persons who died due to drinking alcohol are Amar Paswan and Arjun Paswan, who are uncles and nephews in the relationship. Ajay Paswan, Basant Yadav, Laldev Yadav, Suman Paswan, Harendra Paswan, Kailash Yadav and Sanjay Yadav are among those who are fighting for life in the hospital after consuming spurious liquor. According to the news, on Monday night, all the people consumed alcohol after which suddenly their health deteriorated. After the condition worsened, he was admitted to a nearby health centre where 2 persons died during treatment while 7 people are undergoing treatment. After the condition of two people became more serious, they have been admitted to Magadh Medical College Hospital in Gaya for better treatment.
