New Delhi: After marathon meetings and the refusal of three big leaders, the name of the joint presidential candidate of the opposition was sealed. However, now it is reported that the CPM unit of West Bengal is not satisfied with the nomination of Yashwant Sinha. The party says that the candidate for this post could have been better. Here, NDA has fielded former Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu in the fight against Sinha.

CPM's Rajya Sabha member from Bengal Vikas Ranjan Bhattacharya questioned Sinha's candidature in view of his existing ties with the BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the past and said the party will have to bear it. CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, through the party's mouthpiece in Bengali, explained the circumstances under which the party was compelled to support Sinha's candidature.

Yechury openly admitted that there was growing internal discontent over the decision to support Sinha's candidature, Yechury said Yashwant Sinha was the only option left for the opposition after Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah and Gopal Krishna Gandhi refused to contest. Were. Yechury, however, said that it was a moral victory of the CPM that under its pressure Sinha had to resign from the post of Trinamool Congress (TMC) national vice-president before his name was announced as the opposition candidate.
