Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said today, 'Even if God becomes CM, he cannot give government jobs to all candidates. If God becomes CM tomorrow also, it is not possible.' The Panchayat representatives have given the initiative to start their government's ambitious "Swayamvar Mitra".

Under the Swayamvar Mitra initiative, gazetted government officials are expected to visit panchayats and conduct ground-level audits of state schemes. He should prepare a comprehensive document on the resources of the village and give suggestions for making the villages self-sufficient. Apart from this, their (unemployed) households should also have an income of Rs 8,000 to 10,000 per month.

Recently, Pramod Sawant said, 'There are a lot of jobs in Goa, on which outsiders are hard-pressed. Our Swayamvar Mitras will also coordinate tasks such as arranging small jobs suitable for the rural unemployed." Currently, the state's unemployment rate is 15.4%.," Sawant said. While speaking at a function of Confederation of Indian Industry earlier this month, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also expressed concern over rising unemployment.
