New Delhi: The central government has made a big announcement regarding the Haj pilgrimage and has made some important changes to the Haj Policy 2023. Now passengers will not have to pay the application fee to perform the Haj pilgrimage. Earlier, Haj pilgrims used to pay Rs 400 for this. It has now been made free. Along with this, the rules under the new policy have been made in such a way that every passenger will now be able to save at least Rs 50,000 from their travel expenses.

The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs has tweeted, ''The new historic Haj policy will provide financial relief to the pilgrims. The application form has been made free for the first time. The cost of the Haj package has been reduced by about 50 thousand rupees. Earlier, pilgrims were charged money for bags, suitcases, and bed sheets. Now the central government will not charge for these items. Haj pilgrims will now be able to buy goods according to their own. Along with this, this time disabled, elderly, and women will be given preference for the Haj pilgrimage. Under the new Haj policy, embarkation points for women, newborns, persons with disabilities and the elderly have been identified on a large scale and special arrangements have been made for this.''

According to a report, this time 25 embargo points have been made and it will be the decision of the Haji which embargoment point he chooses. Also, medical examinations done by Haji from private institutions will not be valid. Hajis will now have to get their medical checkup done in government hospitals only. According to the new rule, this time women above 45 years of age will also be able to apply for Haj alone. Along with this, this time 80 percent Hajis will go to perform the Haj on behalf of the Haj Committee and 20 percent will travel through private operators. This will be the first time that the government has abolished the VIP quota for Haj pilgrimage. Now no passenger will be given VIP treatment for Haj. They will travel like all normal passengers.
