2. Taking steamy showers - Hot water dehydrates strands (just like skin), leading to dry, brittle hair that’s more prone to snap and fall out.
3. Using hot styling tools - Scorching temps damage the proteins that make up your hair and its protective cuticle. Once the cuticle is damaged, the moisture balance is disrupted and your hair is more prone to breakage.
4. Detangling from root to tip - Whether your hair is wet or has dried already, don’t try to detangle it from the top. As it’s difficult to comb tangled hair, the force applied to detangle it will lead to breakage and it will hurt too
5. Overexposure to the sun - UV rays can fade the colour of your hair, increase dryness and cause split ends. If you must step out in the sun, try and cover your mane with a scarf or a stylish hat that will also make a cool statement.
