New Delhi: Several reactions came after the Centre's decision to remove Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The government's decision was expected to be challenged in the court and so on. Several petitions have been filed in the apex court so far. Another petition on the issue has been filed on Saturday. The petition was filed by six former army officers and former bureaucrats on the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill and Article 370.

Six people, including Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak and retired Major General Ashok Mehta, are among those killed. Among the petitioners were former Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Hindal Haider Tayyebji, former IAS Abhibha Pandey of Punjab cadre, Radha Kumar, former member of the Interlocus Group of Jammu and Kashmir Home Ministry, former IAS Gopal Pillai of Kerala cadre, retired Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak and General Ashok Kumar Mehta is included. Ashok Mehta has been posted in the URI sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

He has also served in the Indo-Pakistan wars of 1965 and 1971. Several more petitions against the abolition of Section 370 have also been filed in the Supreme Court. All these petitions are to be heard simultaneously in the court. However, the court has dismissed the petition seeking the removal of restrictions from Jammu and Kashmir. The court has asked the government to give some more time.
